Meet Our members
Hello my name is Yarely Perez and I’m an 18 year old senior in high school. I am determined and extremely friendly. I’m always looking to evolve as a person and leader. Some clubs/extra curricular activities that I’m a part of are volleyball, basketball, ASB, NHS, & Interact. I joined the organization girls build LA because I want to be a helping hand to all the women that need it or that would like to further their knowledge in any important information. I want to be able to enforce women empowerment and this club will help build women the confidence to stand up for themselves and to push for equity in all aspects of life. I know that this club can provide all the resources that us women need, and I’m extremely thankful that we can provide all that for them.

My name is Emely Anaya, I’m a senior in Bassett high school and I am the project manager of Blooming Olys. I’m part of the National Honor’s Society, Interact Club, ASB, Link Crew, and I play volleyball, basketball, and soccer. The reason I joined Blooming Olys is because I truly believe that us females need to make a change in today’s world and start standing up for ourselves. Our main goal in the Blooming Olys is to be a place where girls feel comfortable around each other, and to be a support system for one another. Seeing the girls in this organization become very close and be there each other has made me realize that there’s nothing better than women supporting women. We’re stronger together and if we help one another, we can accomplish anything we set our mind to. Working alongside these girls has allowed me to see that with the right amount of motivation, we can truly do a lot to better ourselves and show everyone what we are capable of. I’m so happy to be a part of an amazing group of girls because we all uplift each other and motivate each other to become stronger, mentally, physically, and even emotionally. We deserve to be heard & we WILL change that stereotype of females being viewed as less than males. Us women are being discriminated and belittled simply because of our gender, when in reality, we ARE the superior gender. We’re fierce, confident, intelligent, and most importantly, we’re strong. In the short amount of time that the Blooming Olys has been around, we’ve gotten a lot of work done and have done a lot to help girls with their confidence and we hope to accomplish more in the future.

I'm Lizett Trujillo, a senior at Bassett High School. I'm a student athlete, I do volleyball, basketball, and softball. I also am a participant in the interact club. My reason being for joining Blooming Olys was because I’d like to make a change in my school/community with the way they treat and view women. I want more women empowerment where us girls have the chance to shine, and outgrow the little expectations many people have on us.To me women empowerment is important because our society/communities/the people have made this thing where girls can’t do the same things boys do because we are considered weak, afraid, etc. Therefore, I believe Blooming Olys is a great place for us girls to be able to express ourselves, where we can be heard and change the way society views us, a place where we can feel more support. Lastly, I’m confident Blooming Olys is the best way for girls to communicate with one another as to where they are comfortable, and are able to rely, and feel supported by each other.
